Manifestation of the sons of God

“For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own. I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory that is about to be unveiled within us. The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters! For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children. To this day we are aware of the universal agony and groaning of creation as if it were in the contractions of labor for childbirth. And it’s not just creation. We who have already experienced the first fruits of the Spirit also inwardly groan as we passionately long to experience our full status as God’s sons and daughters—including our physical bodies being transformed’ – Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭16‬-‭23‬ ‭TPT.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The redemption and regeneration of the human spirit was the crowning work of God in the universe. For eons, the heart of the Father longed for a family of genuine sons and daughters. For eons, the sons of Adam have created religion after vain religion to fill the void in their souls. The Father’s heart ached to have His family in heaven and on earth reformed and reunited again.

When Yeshua (Jesus) uttered the immortal words: ‘it is finished’; the heart of the Father must have leaped for joy because a new day had just dawned on human history. No sage or Prophet dared call Him father until the revealing of the Son. They called Him by an uncountable number of names, some even referred to Him as a mysterious energy or an unknowable force but no one anywhere had the authority to call Him Father.

Not only did He claim that Jehovah of Israel was His Father, but He also taught His disciples to call Him their Father as well. For many of us who had the fortune of being born into Christian families, the import may be sometimes lost on us. To call God Father was unthinkable in that day. Sadly, it is still unthinkable to many today. Oh, the blessedness of truly knowing Yahweh of Israel as your very own heavenly father!

If God is truly our heavenly father (and HE is), what does that portend for us? What are the implications of that reality? As I write this, I think of a world-famous politician who has a son who has battled drug addiction and many other vices, yet this son gets to sit of the board of important companies and gets paid millions of dollars even though he has no measurable skill in any of the positions he has been appointed to. This gentleman even admitted in a television interview that his last name is the reason for these opportunities.

Here are the implications of our sonship:

  1. We have a genetic connection to the Almighty God: we have His inherent characteristics without even making any efforts. We are participants in His divine nature. We may be human still, but we have a divine power at work in us that makes us masters of the forces of life and the realm of the spirit.
  2. We have an inheritance in God reserved for us in heaven. We have hope that goes beyond this world. We have a bright future in Christ. When this life is over, our real lives are just getting started. We have been liberated from the fear of death and all forms of bondage to the enemy. We have access to resources beyond this world’s system.
  3. God has a tremendous amount of investment in us – He has placed something in us that He looks forward to inheriting. God’s true wealth is His family. God has made certain deposits in the saints that He looks forward to inheriting. God cannot abandon us now; He has come too far to forsake or abandon us. He is eternally committed to His agenda for us.
  4. Our future begins now: The powers of the age to come is available to the saints today. There is hardly any one of us living in the full manifestation of the new creation. But a new army is arising out of the ashes of failure, defeat, and powerlessness. A new Army that rejects worldliness and carnality. A group of sold-out ones who follow the lamb everywhere He goes and who do not love their lives even in the face of death.

This Remnant Army will see the works, wonders, and the glory of God on this side of eternity as the age is being wrapped up. Are you securely enlisted in this Army? The world has never seen anything like it!
